I'll admit, the Speed Racer remake wasn't completely awful, I feel like it did a pretty decent job of paying tribute to the show despite a few little nigglings I had about.

Remakes of childhood shows and cartoons are generally hit or miss, and most of the misses are when you try to draw in a new crowd for a movie that is innately going to draw in the old crowd. To new viewers, Alvin and the Chipmunks is no different from that one-off movie G-Force with the talking guinea pig spies. Most of the audience is going to be worried fans of the cartoon they remember while the younger kids just watch ANOTHER talking animal movie. Who is gonna have a louder say and who is going to remember the movie better?

My point is that if you're gonna make a turtles movie, make it for the current fans instead of trying to draw in new ones. A reboot of the turtles that is true to its core can only bring in new fans while pleasing current ones. A reboot of the turtles that makes such a radical change will only piss off longtime fans while attracting new ones. And with the turtles, how many more old fans do you think there are than new ones? The correct answer is roughly two generations.Agent Baronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10334977772207455229noreply@blogger.com
